OVERVIEW

Digital Fabrication
Digital Fabrication technologies have transformed the economics of manufacturing both locally, and globally.  Digital Fabrication for Artists and Designers will focus on developing fundamental tools and processes necessary to utilize digital fabrication techniques. 

The first two weeks of this course will begin at the National University of Science and Technology (MISiS) FabLab, where students will engage in digital fabrication coursework while being exposed to a variety of cultural events.

During the following two weeks, students will continue expanding on their studies in Menomonie, WI utilizing equipment and technologies in UW-Stout’s FabLab, and complete course projects that equip digital fabrication techniques as a fundamental process.

Eligibility
Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
Completion of at least one academic semester at UW-Stout at the time of participation
Good academic & behavioral standing
Prerequisite: ART-103 and ART-200

LOGISTICS

Digital Fabrication
Accommodation: Students will be housed at the residence halls at MISiS.

Meals: Students will eat some meals at the MISiS cafeteria. Students will be responsible for purchasing all additional meals throughout the program. Please notify the faculty leader of any dietary needs or restrictions. 

Travel: Group flights will be purchased for all participants and the faculty leader. These costs are already included in the program fee. If you require any deviations from the group travel plan, the faculty leader and the Office of International Education must be notified prior to the application deadline in order to accommodate you. Participants will be responsible for any additional costs associated with a deviation from the group.
