Under the Hessen-Wisconsin Program, Wisconsin students are offered the opportunity to study at an institute of higher education in the state of Hessen, Germany. University Selection
When you apply to the Hessen-Wisconsin program you will list your top three Hessen institutions at which you would like to study in order of priority.

The Hessen program requires a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA, however, GPAs below 3.0 are also acceptable depending on the Hessen institution. If you have less than a 3.0, you will need to include a letter of recommendation, preferably from a professor.

German Language Course
All of the universities (except Offenbach) offer intensive German language courses that begin one month before the academic term (September 1st for fall term and March 1st for spring term).

International Summer & Winter Universities
Several universities in Hessen offer short-term study programs called the International Summer University (ISU) and International Winter University (IWU). The programs are designed for students studying politics, economics, engineering, law, culture, technology and media who want to learn more about the German and European dimension of their respective subject and learn the German language or refresh their German by participating in an intensive language course. The subject courses are taught in English.

StudiumPlus Internship through Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM)
The European Industrial Experience Mittelhessen (EIEM) is StudiumPlus's exchange programme which invites students to gain first-hand work experience at a German company. The work placements are accredited modules of StudiumPlus and participants will be enrolled as exchange students of StudiumPlus and THM (Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen University of Applied Sciences). Following an intensive German language course, which will also help students settle into life in Germany, participants will work full-time at THM's partner companies from October to December.

International Undergraduate Study Program (IUSP)
The IUSP is designed for North American students who want to take most or all of their coursework in English alongside German students while studying German and following the North American Academic Calendar.  Marburg’s IUSP program is a good bridge for students who wish to study for a semester in Germany but may not have a high enough German language skill level.

Social Work (International Course - Bachelor's)
Offered in fall semester only. Students can take all social work classes or a couple of classes in social work and then take two classes in the social & cultural program. The social and cultural classes are in the Master’s program so bachelor’s students should be in their 3rd or 4th year. An internship is a part of the semester coursework and the language is German on site. Students should show a good attitude, be positive, and work hard at the internship site.
