Travel Registration

In order to be in compliance with UW-Stout's Safety and Risk Management protocol, all faculty and staff traveling abroad must complete the following three items at least two weeks prior to departure:
  1. Submit a Travel Registration:
    • NOTE: If the location(s) of your destination does not appear, please email and provide the city/town/village name(s) and country(ies). Advisors will add the location(s) to the system and then you may complete your Travel Registration. Please allow 24-48 hours for this information to be updated.
    • NOTE FOR STUDENTS: Students traveling abroad who are not receiving academic credit for their trip must also register their travel plans. For students attending a credit-bearing program, you do not need to complete this registry. After applying for and being accepted to a UW-Stout study abroad program, students will be enrolled in CISI insurance, and will be encouraged to enroll in the State Department’s STEP during pre-departure orientation.
  2. Enroll in CISI insurance here. CISI is the UW System's International Medical, Travel, & Security Insurance. The policy brochure may be found here.
    • 2020-2021 rates for insurance are:
      • 1 week: $11.30
      • 2 weeks: $20.50
      • 3 weeks: $29.20
      • Monthly: $39.50
  3. Enroll in STEP here. STEP is the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program offered through the U.S. Department of State. This is a free service to allow U.S. citizens and nationals traveling and living abroad to enroll their trip with the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate.
