Program not operating summer 2013
The Program

Together with students from Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen, MS Risk Control and Construction Risk Control students will learn about occupational safety, health and environmental standards. This program allow students to experience, first-hand, the regulations and standards from a European perspective. Learning will be enhanced by tours of German factories and group problem solving.

Sophomore status at time of participation

Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA

Course Information

Upon successful completion, students will receive 3 credits for RC383/583, Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Standards.

Students will be evaluated on group and individual assignments, class participation and professionalism.

Program Fee

The final program cost will be determined by the number of participants, shortly after the application deadline. The program cost includes instructional fees, health insurance, housing, cultural activities/site visits, in-country transportation and airfare.

Passport fees, meals and personal expenses are not included in the program costs and are paid directly by the students. See budget sheet (above) for cost details.

To receive financial aid for summer, students must take a total of 6 credits. Students will need to apply for summer financial aid separately. For more information, meet with a financial aid counselor in 210 Bowman Hall.

Lodging and Meals

Students will stay in residence halls of the Studentenwerk Giessen, 2km from the campus. There is public transportation available from the Studentenwerk to campus. Students will be responsible for daily breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Passport/Visa/Travel

All students must have a valid U.S. passport for entrance into Germany. The current passport fee is $135. If you already have a U.S. passport, be sure to check the dates of validity. It must be valid for at least six months beyond the return date to the U.S.
